North State Hunting Club

I want to first say Congratulations to Carson and Brent on their engagement. We had a wonderful time celebrating at the North State Hunting Club . It was my first time to this institution of the Clark family. We started off with oysters and moved on through an amazing spread topped off with great people and awesome music. I am really looking forward to the weddings coming up within the Clark crew.

The picture below is an image of the Mill Pond right next to the club. The reflection in the water was perfect, and the weather couldn't have been better. I promised a shot of the weekend so here you go...

Another Self Portrait

To be honest, I am still trying to get the hang of this whole blogging thing. I promised myself that I would post at least 3 times a week. I am trying to put up pictures that I absolutely love, but sometimes I go through a week or 10 days without taking a photo. Sooooo I find myself looking though old photos to put up. I am going to stick with this blog because it means a lot to me to put my photos out there, but some days you are going to get old self portraits like this...

I am off to an engagment party this weekend which is being held at a Hunting Club. I will try and see if I can come away with a few shots for all to see. Hope you all have a great weekend!

Pine Cone Portraits

I was very fortunate to work with some wonderful models lately. I had a great little photo shoot with three pine cones while at White Lake. Here are some examples of their amazing work.

Nico Stai

Everyone has their dashboard music. The tunes you put on in your car when you are driving down your favorite road blasting the music as loud as your stereo will allow. I have found myself screaming along with Nico Stai lately. Sure he has some Modest Mouse thing going on, but I love his sound. Here are two of the songs I have been blasting.

Moments of Meditation

Here are a couple more images from my weekend at White Lake. I thought both had a little bit of a Zen feel to them. I love the simplicity. I think both shots really speak to the quiet, simple and relaxing time Carolyn and I had at the lake. Hope you are finding your own moments of meditation.

Finding My Motivation

Carolyn and I had an amazing Valentine's weekend. We went up to White Lake, NC for some much needed R&R. White Lake is a beautiful shallow spring fed lake. Of course its bottom is all white sand, hence the name. It was a little chilly as you will see in the second picture, but the sun was out and we were fortunate to have a perfect sunset. I love the Spanish moss that covers most trees down there. It was so quiet. It felt like we had the lake to ourselves. We even took the canoe out for a little bit. So here are a few shots of our weekend.

Carolyn had a great book that she couldn't put down, and there wasn't a more perfect place to read than out on the dock. A great place to take in the sunset as long as you had on some layers!

Happy Valentine's Day

On this day of Feb. 14th 2011, let me first start by saying that I have the most beautiful and amazing wife anyone could ask for. I am so very lucky to wake up every morning next to her. I wanted to add a picture to this post, and when I was looking through all of mine I kept coming back to our wedding pictures. She had this perfect smile the whole day, and what a perfect day it was. So on this Valentine's Day let me say that I love you so much beautiful, and I am thankful for all of our Valentine's Days that we have celebrated and all of the ones to come!

All of our wonderful wedding pictures including the one above were taken by Anna Naphtali. Please check out her amazing website, and if you are shopping for wedding photographers let me say that she was absolutely wonderful!

Need Some Motivation

The weather outside is not inviting... I need to find some motivation to go out and take some shots. I recently moved to Charlotte, NC and I know there is no better way to explore a new town than to go out with my camera. But there is that weather again. Whenever I went out and explored different parts of NYC I always came back refreshed, excited and eager to explore my images on my computer.

I took this shot by the South Street Sea Port. This photographer took his time setting up to grab the end of the sunset. He was very focused and I enjoyed watching this scene unfold. I hope he found the perfect photo!

First Birthday Part II

Here are a few more shots of beautiful Ella at her first birthday party. You can't get much more picture perfect than that bow, smile and little wicker rocking chair. I think her smile is proof that her parents threw her a perfect party. She certainly was at the center of it all! Happy Birthday Ella!

I had to share this latest post. Chris Kotsiopoulus has undertaken an amazing project putting 24 hours into one photograph. He took over 500 photos to complete this amazing image, and I am sure that the editing took quite a while as well. Check out his detailed image!

Wishing it was Warmer

Usually by this time of year I am dreaming of summer. I know it is only the beginning of February, but I am already thinking about warmer weather. This shot was taken last summer in upstate NY along the Hudson, and it reminds me of a perfect summer afternoon. This wonderful  model is my sister-in-law. We had a great time in this small river town, and a lot of the architecture is absolutely perfect. I love the small town feel and the slower pace that comes with that. I could do this amazing weekend vacation all over again right about now. Wish I was there!
